Americans want to travel

A Harris Poll finds that 59% of Americans say they plan to travel this holiday season, 64% by personal vehicle and 48% by air.

Although 83% said that concerns about inflation and the economy will cause them to reduce spend on holiday shopping this year, only 38% said they will take shorter trips and 33% said they will travel farther this year than last.

Obviously there's still pent-up demand for travel following the 2 years of COVID-19 restrictions.

Survey was conducted 2-6 September 2022 with a representative sample of 1000 US adults aged 18+, with data weighted to reflect the US population across age, sex, race/ethnicity, region, income, household size and employment.
