Sen Nick Collins

On Friday Massachusetts Sen. Nick Collins and Rep. David Biele filed SD 2601 An Act relative to the expansion of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center which if passed will authorize the MCCA to sell the Hynes Convention Center and set aside the proceeds for a proposed $500M expansion of the BCEC on a 12-acre plot behind the existing BCEC building.

In September the MCCA Board voted in favor of the sale of the Hynes.

The bill would also create a marketing program designed to incentivize inclusiveness of the BCEC development project.

In FY 2018 the BCEC hosted 97 events with a combined economic impact of $500M.
