Sunday River and other Maine ski areas that are about to open for the 2017-2018 season needs hundreds of seasonal employees.

Factors like the Trump administration's "Buy American, Hire American" policy that affect the availability of visas for temporary overseas workers are contributing to shortages.

Accordingly. Sunday River this year is offering better housing and season ski passes to lure prospective employees.

But a Sunday River spokesperson says skiers will "never notice it operationally."

Hope that's true.
