6 million international visitors came to the USA in December 2016 - 294,733 fewer than in December 2015.

Strength of the US dollar was likely the principal cause of fewer visits, but the US political climate may also have been a factor.

82% of all visits were for leisure travel.

Top inbound markets in absolute terms were Canada and Mexico as usual.
