Per 2018 Carlson Wagonlit Global Travel Forecast, a strong global economy is resulting in increased demand for travel, causing increased oil prices and rising inflation, which in turn will lead to higher hotel rates as well as higher prices for air and ground travel.

Projected global price increases:

- Air travel +3.5%

- Hotels +3.7%

- Ground transportation +1.6%

Projected regional air travel price increases:

- Asia-Pacific +2.8%

- Western Europe +5.5%

- Eastern Europe +8.5%

- Middle East and Africa +3%

- Latin America +0.3%

- North America + 2.3%
