Visit Philadelphia budgets $2M for summer campaign to reopen tourism

Greater Philadelphia regional DMO Visit Philadelphia has announced intent to invest $2M in attracting leisure travelers to the area in summer 2021, and defend its market share against competing regions.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said:

“The City is preparing to safely welcome back visitors and working hard to restore the jobs and tax revenue that the hospitality industry generates for Philadelphia each year. Investing in a tourism marketing campaign will position Philadelphia to bring tourists back to our city this summer, and the money they spend at our restaurants, hotels, shops and attractions will stimulate Philadelphia’s economy.”

Tourism generated over $1B in tax revenues in Greater Philadelphia in 2019.
