A Destination Canada spokesperson said in a statement that the national tourist board has chosen to "temporarily pause or postpone [its] marketing efforts in China" as a result of the diplomatic flap resulting from the arrest in Canada at the USA's request of a Huawei Technologies executive on suspicion of violating trade sanctions against Iran, and the detention in China of 3 Canadian citizens.

For Canada tourism, timing couldn't be worse, with 2018 being the Canada-China Year of Tourism.
