On Monday, Florida legislators approved a 2020 budget of $50M for Visit Florida - less than the $76M Gov. Ron DeSantis wanted, but at the same time moved the agency's sunset date from 1 October 2019 to 30 June 2020.
House Democrats are still unhappy about Visit Florida's secret 2015 payment of $1M to rapper Pitbull for a promotional video. House Speaker Jose Oliva had wanted the agency's funding to end 1 October.
