German National Tourist Office

Data from the German National Tourist Office suggest that Germany is the most popular European tourist destinations for visitors from India in summer 2022 following relaxation of COVID-19 travel restrictions, accounting for 9% of India-Europe trips of which 55% were for leisure, 38% for business.

German inbound tourist numbers show visitation from India up 214% so far in 2022.

Easy air access is a factor, with 8-hour flights to Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart available from major Indian airports.

Also, India is a target market for the German National Tourist Office's "German.Local.Culture" campaign promoting city breaks and urban diversity.
