MOTT awards $2.2M in FY 2023 Destination Development Capital Grants

Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism

The Baker-Polito Administration has announced the award by MOTT of $2.2M in Destination Development Capital Grants to 20 organizations in support of projects that expand, construct, restore or renovate Massachusetts tourism destinations and attractions.

FY 2023 grant recipients are:

  • Discovery Museum, $49,700 for reconstruction of a stonewall
  • Franklin County Agricultural Society, $75,000 for electrical updates
  • Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden Agricultural Society, $149,999 for grandstand renovation
  • Head of the Charles Regatta, Inc, $33,000 for tents, utilities and onsite amenities
  • Heritage Museums & Gardens, $250,000 to replace welcome center destroyed by storm
  • Hopkinton Center for the Arts, $30,834 for improvements to amphitheater and gardens
  • Maritime Gloucester, $93,000 for repair of electrical transformer
  • Museum of Science, $185,000 for repair of deteriorating exterior wall
  • New Bedford Parks Recreation & Beaches, $231,788 for development of a public greenspace
  • New England Aquarium, $149,999 for website redesign
  • Old Sturbridge Village, $36,000 for sewer, hot water and HVAC upgrades
  • Plimoth Patuxet Museums, $54,938 for improved signage and entranceways
  • Salisbury Beach Partnership, $250.000 for construction of carousel pavilion
  • Town of Southbridge, $8000 for historic walking tour venue
  • Spirit of Springfield, $98,700 for gift shop displays and tunnel arch replacement
  • Wang Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., $47,500 for inclined platform lift
  • Three Saints, Inc., $45,000 for new festival stage
  • USN Shipbuilding Museum, $127,500 for technology upgrades
  • Town of Wareham, $250,000 for bandstand and seating renovations
  • Town of Yarmouth, $45,000 for wayfinding master plan and signage
