Canada to invest $3M in pride festivals to draw LGBTQ2 tourists

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau at Vancouver Pride Parade

Tourism Minister Melanie Jolie has announced that $3M from the Canadian Experiences Fund will be invested over 2 years in supporting Pride Festivals in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

Diversity training and market readiness programs are planned also.

Tourism contributes more than 2% of the Canadian GNP, and LGBTQ2 visitors to Canada spend 33% more than the overall average tourist spend.
