The Government of India this week announced the suspension until 15 April of all tourist visas beginning 13 March, in order to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the country.

All incoming travelers who have visited China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, France, Spain or Germany on or after 15 February will be quarantined for at least 14 days.

Issuance of visas to citizens of France, Spain and Germany has been suspended indefinitely. Issuance of visas to citizens of China, Italy, Iran and South Korea had been suspended earlier.

Visas of foreigners already in India on 13 March will remain valid.
