Per MA Gov. Charlie Baker's Covid-19 Order 53, all businesses in the state that serve alcohol must close between the hours of 9:30 PM and 5 AM.
That includes the state's 3 commercial casinos: Encore Boston Harbor, MGM Springfield and the Plainridge Park slots parlor.
Wynn Resorts reacted quickly by closing its 671-room hotel at Encore, until "at least December 15." The Encore casino remains open daily noon to 9 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 9 PM on weekends.
Thousands of MA casino employees have been laid off or furloughed.
In 2019, Wynn officials had announced a plan to attract 8M visitors a year to Boston. Obviously that plan is on hold for now.
