Rep. Stephen Kulik's House 2715 bill would attempt to head off potential conflicts between agritourism businesses and local jurisdictions over zoning ordinances and other regulations.
According to the MA Department of Agricultural Resources there are more than 400 agritourism sites in the state.
As proposed , the Commission would receive no state funding.
If this initiative works as intended, it could keep some farmers on the land by providing income alternatives to selling out to condo developers.
And that's a good thing.
