First Night Boston

The First Night Boston New Year's Eve event - first presented in 1977 - will be back live for 2022 beginning at noon on 31 December 2021 with ice sculptures, a parade from Copley Square to the Common, and fireworks both over the Common at 7 PM for kids and over the inner harbor at midnight.

The downtown event is organized by Conventures, Inc., the midnight fireworks by Boston Harbor Now and the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park.

Because of COVID-19, First Night was done online in 2021, with no fireworks.

For 2022, masks are mandatory at all indoor venues.
