US President Donald Trump said in a Tweet an hour ago:

"We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected. Details to follow!"

Presumably tourism falls into the "non-essential" category vice "trade".

Bad news for both US and Canada border regions where cross-border tourism is big business.
