Business Minister Geoff MacLellan

Minister of Business, Energy, Service Nova Scotia and Trade Geoff MacLellan said in a statement last week that without a definite completion date from US Customs and Border Protection for renovations it requires to the Bar Harbor, ME ferry terminal, Bay Ferries' Bar Harbor-Yarmouth service may not run in summer 2019.

Service was originally scheduled to begin in early June, but Bay Ferries reset start date to "mid-summer," canceled early sailings and refunded ticket payments.

The NS Transportation Department continues to pay Bay Ferries per the existing agreement.

How long will that subsidy continue? When will the terminal be ready?
