Overnight arrivals from Asia-Pacific were up 17.2%, from Latin America up 55.4%. But visits from Europe were down 4.5% and those from the United States were down 0.3% (mainly related to drive traffic). The strengthening CAD - along with a weak GBP which makes the UK a more attractive destination - are likely causes of those shrinkages. Unfortunately, currency fluctuations are outside the control of tourism destinations and businesses.
