Airbnb is also collecting lodging tax from landlords in at least 2 US states: Maine and Pennsylvania. (See Related and Similar Listings, above.) Airbnb claims to have 300+ similar agreements worldwide.

QC tax of 3.5% applies to stays shorter than 31 days.

Tax is a small step in leveling the playing field for B&Bs and small inns that along with paying the tax are subject to permitting and inspections.
