Days after the Turkish government arrested an employee of the US Consulate in Istanbul, the US Embassy in Ankara suspended all nonimmigrant visa services in Turkey while reassessing Turkey's commitment to the security of Americans.

The Turkish Embassy in DC then suspended the issuance of nonimmigrant visas to Americans.

That move won't be helpful to achieving Tourism Minister Professor Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş's target of getting 50M visitors to Turkey by 2023. (See Related Article, above.)
