Visits to the UK from overseas were down by 4% in November 2017, but spending was up 4%.

Visits from overseas were down by 11% in December, and spending was down by 13%.

Numbers are based on a sampling of surveys completed by arriving and departing passengers.

Exchange-rate fluctuations are likely a factor.
