This is an interesting approach to the problem of filling jobs in a seasonal tourism industry.

Has any tourist board in the USA ever tried this?

Sounds like a good plan for places like coastal Maine and Cape Cod that are full of active retirees but having difficulty hiring temporary workers from overseas.
