According to a new report by Beijing-based travel marketers Dragon Trail International, the UK, US and Canada are the top international destinations for China outbound student flights booked for August and September 2021.
Compared with outbound student bookings from China in the same period in 2019, 2021 bookings for those destinations are down only:
- UK 19.5%
- US 22.0%
- Canada 28.9%
Student destinations in Europe and Asia-Pacific are faring significantly worse, with bookings down:
- Germany 58.4%
- France 56.1%
- Australia 90.4%
- Japan 84.7%
- Singapore 50.7%
- New Zealand 89.6%
Student travel promotions by airlines - including Air France, KLM , Lufthansa, Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Delta, Finnair, Emirates and Singapore airlines. but not Air China, China Eastern or China Southern - deserve much credit for the strength of outbound student bookings. Most popular services are those to London, Manchester, Edinburgh, NYC and Boston.
