West Virginia Legislature

WV Governor Jim Justice has requested a budget of $14M for tourism advertising and promotion.

Senate Bill 150 would appropriate $53.5M of surplus general revenue - of which there currently is, unusually, quite a lot - and lottery funds, with $7M of that surplus to be used for tourism advertising and promotion, along with $7M of general revenue also appropriated to tourism, for a total of $14M.

Senate Finance Chairman Craig Blair is concerned that if Bill 150 passes, in the next session he'll be flooded with requests for surplus funds appropriations.
