IATA has projected UK air traffic growth to 2035 under 3 Brexit scenarios:

  • Soft - Flight rights as exist today: +55.2%
  • Moderate - Some additional restrictions: +51.0%
  • Hard - Substantial limits on EU-UK flights: +45.5%

Most vulnerable airlines: Ryanair, Virgin Atlantic, IAG, EasyJet

American transatlantic carriers Delta, United and America could also be affected because many of their passengers flying to Heathrow are making connections to mainland Europe.

Like exchange rates, the critical variable of air access and airfares is out of the hands of most tourism marketers, and we have to accommodate and make the best of the hand we're dealt.
