Increases Flights to Ireland for Summer 2007; New Chicago- to-Shannon Service
Complements Chicago-to-Dublin Flight
CHICAGO, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines today announced
it will begin Chicago-to-Shannon, Ireland, nonstop service beginning May 1,
2007. This new daily departure from O'Hare International Airport will feature
Boeing 757 service and will complement American's existing daily
Chicago-to-Dublin, Ireland, flight that began in May 2006.
"We are excited about being able to offer two flights to Ireland this
coming summer," said Thomas Aichele, American's Managing Director --
Passenger Sales in Chicago. "Ireland is an extremely popular destination
and our 'Gateway to the World' hub at O'Hare offers easy and convenient travel
for both local and connecting passengers who want to leave their homes one day
and be on the Emerald Isle by the next morning."
American, a founding member of the oneworld(R) Alliance, is currently
operating Shannon service in conjunction with a daily nonstop Chicago-to-
Dublin flight. That pattern of service will return in October 2007 after the
busy summer season.

American Airlines is a welcome addition to the transatlantic airline seat
capacity on direct nonstop service into Ireland."
American will fly from Chicago to Shannon using 188-seat Boeing 757 aircraft
featuring Main Cabin service. American's Chicago-to-Dublin flight will feature
219-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft that offer 30 Business Class seats with 60
inches of legroom and 189 seats in main cabin.
Here is the schedule, effective May 1, 2007: From Chicago to Shannon: Flight 356 Departs 6:50 p.m. Arrives 8:00 a.m. (next day) From Shannon to Chicago Flight 255 Departs 10:15 a.m. Arrives 12:15 p.m. (same day) From Chicago to Dublin Flight 92 Departs 7:15 p.m. Arrives 8:35 a.m. (next day) From Dublin to Chicago Flight 93 Departs 10:35 a.m. Arrives 12:35 p.m. (same day)
Passengers will also enjoy American's award-winning International Flagship
Service on the Chicago-to-Dublin route, featuring a selection of dining,
beverage and entertainment options. Business Class passengers on American's
767-300 widebodies will have access to a number of other amenities for use at
their convenience, including powerports at each seat. Powerports are available
in the Main Cabin on both routes at selected seats
