On 8 August Air Asia Japan began seasonal (to 26 October) 2/day flights on a 517-km route between Nagoya Chubu and Sendai using A320 aircraft. All Nippon Airways and IBEX Airlines also fly this route.

Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture is Japan's 4th-largest city and home to Nagoya Castle, Atsuta Jingu Shinto shrine and Osu Kannon Buddhist temple, along with pachinko parlors.

Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture is known for its Sendai Tanabata star festival, Sendai Castle and its City Museum of culture and history of the Edo period.

And on 12 August Delta began 3/day flights on a 988-km route between Salt Lake City and Santa Barbara using Embraer 175 aircraft.
