Americans set new records for UK visits and spend January-September 2019

VisitBritain reports that there were 3.5M visits by Americans to Britain in the first 9 months of 2019, up 13% yoy. And these visitors spent 3.4B GBP, up 23%.

Strength of the US dollar against the GBP since the Brexit referendum is likely a major contributor to the growth in US inbound travel.

Advance US-to-UK bookings for February-July 2020 are up 10% yoy from 2019.

America is now Britain's largest and most valuable country source market, worth 127B GBP annually.
