Posted 18 October 2017:

Association of British Travel Agents reports that on average Brits have taken 3.8 holidays per person in 2017, up from 3.4 in 2016 - a number second only to record year 2011 with 3.9 trips per person.

And 87% took at least one holiday.

Other trends:

  • Increasing popularity of Mediterranean destinations
  • Earlier booking
  • More careful spending, especially on short breaks
  • Long-haul spend up 9%
  • 63% plan to visit the EU in the coming year,Brexit notwithstanding

Looks like good news for 2018 all around - for UK domestic destinations, Europe, North America and beyond.
