Gov. Janet Mills

At the urging of the Maine tourism industry, Gov. Janet Mills yesterday moved up the date at which Maine commercial lodgings can begin hosting visitors from outside ME-NH-VT from Wednesday 1 July to Friday 26 June.

Intent of this change is to enable lodging establishments to get business for the key weekend preceding the July 4 holiday.

Visitors from outside ME-NH-VT must still either complete 14-day quarantine upon arriving in Maine, or present to the hotel at check-in a signed Certificate of Compliance stating that they have had a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Visitors from within Maine or from NH or VT can already stay at Maine lodgings without quarantining or testing.

Reopening date for overnight summer camps remains at 1 July.
