Although April-September airline seat bookings outbound from the UK to the nearest non-EU destinations are up a strong 12.9% vs. 2018, UK to EU bookings are off by 4.5%.

Brexit-related uncertainties may be causing Britons to substitute non-EU destinations like Tunisia and Turkey for Spain or Italy.

For the same time period, inbound bookings to the UK from EU countries are up 11.8%, from non-EU countries up 13.5%, likely at least in part on account of the weakness of the GBP.

And 2019 visits to the UK from China are expected to be up 43% from 2017.

Given a continued, adequate supply of EU-citizen workers, and absent negative impacts of Brexit on EU-UK air connectivity, the UK tourism industry should have a banner year in 2019.
