Posted 18 December 2017:

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling announced the new deal on 10 December 2017, saying in part:

"These agreements are an important part of preparing Britain for a post-Brexit world and making sure we have access to key markets in the Far East..."

Visitors to the UK from China tend to stay longer, spend more, and travel more widely within the UK than do visitors from most other countries.

Chinese tourists are known to be very safety-cautious, and to avoid destinations where terrorist or criminal attacks on tourists are likely. But if the UK continues to keep terrorism and crime under control, the Chinese market should be a profitable one in 2018.
